Okay- I have a slight rant about Facebook profile pictures. You know those things where every one looks stunningly gorgeous but you are sitting here like, "Hi! I'm super friendly and gorgeous, but this picture makes me look like a giraffe thrown onto roller-skates, smeared in jam and rolled through a pixelated dryer on every other Sunday"? Yeah... needless to say, I have problems.
Today I was trying to find a new profile picture (hence the rant...). The last two profile pictures were jokes- in one of them I was trying to show the camera just how large my mouth could get, and the other one was a picture of Pascal from Tangled. It was time for a change.
The first candidate I came across was not terribly bad, except for the fact that I was wearing a loose shirt, making my stomach look about the same size as my front. Also, it was windy... I just couldn't do it. Next I came across a slew of pictures that gave me a double chin, and one where I was wearing a trash bag. The trash bag one looked acceptable, but seriously- I was wearing a trash bag!! I just didn't think that would quite cut it when I comment after to my friend with her gorgeous, perfectly windswept hair and fashion designer clothing.
As I scrolled down, I started to wonder why I was such a goof!! I didn't think I was a goof, but apparently I am. There were several from when I went shopping and tried on the zebra-stripped-mustache sunglasses with the over-sized sunhat. One my roommate took when I wore socks on my hands because the steering wheel was too hot, and the other one she took because I had stuffed my mouth with green beans right before eating a brownie (apparently that is a rather odd food combination ;) ). Next I had a bunch from when I played dress-up. I had a crocheted hat, sweatpants, a scarf, a white belt and some hipster glasses. :) The results ran from an Angel to a French painter, to an old grandpa and back to a gangster. It was quite entertaining, and slightly better than the ones of when I fell asleep on the couch, but I still didn't think it quite fit the hopes I had.
Maybe my standards are too high.
:) Someday I'll stop being a goof- and then maybe I will have an acceptable facebook profile picture. But then again, maybe that would make life too boring.
